Hello and welcome to the Spanish Language & Literature subject guide. This site is designed to help you meet your research needs for Spanish courses at IUPUI as well as orient you to the larger information landscape beyond University Library. In this guide, I will give you tools to find, evaluate, and use information for various needs and contexts. On the next pages, you will also find some guidance for getting started on a research project.
My name is Bronwen Maxson. I'm the library's liaison librarian to the Department of English and the Spanish Program at IUPUI. Before getting my Master's in Library and Information Science, I worked in the field of Immigration Law in Colorado's Denver-Boulder metropolitan area. I'm excited to be here at IUPUI working with students and faculty. I am available to answer questions by email, phone, or in person. You can even request a one-hour research consultation with me or one of my colleagues. My contact information is on the left. The other subject librarians can be found at the link below:
I will update this box with the new books in Spanish here. I usually receive a new shipment of books every couple of weeks! Check back often or get in touch with me for reading recommendations. To locate these books, look them up in IUCAT, the IU libraries system catalog.
To get started with a new research process, it is helpful to start with a well-developed research question. It may be a question you have or a topic that your instructor assigns to you. Follow the steps in this guide to help you navigate the research process. It's ok if you don't follow the steps below in a linear way, but be sure to work on them all at some point during your process in order to get the best outcome.
