About the Spanish Collection

The Library is unlimited and cyclical -- so writes Jorge Luis Borges in his short story, "The Library of Babel."  This description is an apt one, and considering that Borges was himself a librarian it ought to be.  The library is unlimited to the extent that students and faculty have access to not only an unlimited number of resources -- available through Indiana University Libraries and through interlibrary loan (ILL) -- but also an unlimited number of services offered by their librarians.  As the subject liaison to the Spanish department at IUPUI, I serve the faculty who teach in this department and the students who take their courses.  My primary objective is to assist students and faculty as they proceed through the cyclical process that is research -- making it less painful and more enjoyable.  This research guide, meant to highlight major resources pertaining to the study of Spanish, is just one way I try to meet this aim.  For more information about the Spanish Language and Literatures collection at IUPUI, please see the collection policy.
