HPER T590: Introduction to Research in Health, Kinesiology & Recreation

Need help . . . ?

Conducting or writing a literature review? Try these tips:

Citing your sources in APA format?

Use the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th ed. A print copy is in REFERENCE under call number BF76.7. P83 2010 or at the 2nd floor Service and Information Desk. See examples of citations.

APA Style Guide to Electronic References is available to IUPUI-authenticated users only. Access permitted for viewing and downloading the PDF document and printing one copy. The file may not be shared with others.

Managing your citations? Learn about Endnote or Zotero to collect, manage, and cite your research sources.

Writing?  Visit the University Writing Center  and also check out their online handouts.

Request Delivery & InterLibrary Loan

Request Delivery

IUPUI students, faculty and staff may place direct online requests through IUCAT, the library's catalog, to obtain books located at  other IU libraries. Most books arrive within 4-7 working days and can be picked up at the University Library's 2nd floor Service Desk. Please note that books loaned from other libraries may have shorter checkout periods. Instructions are here:

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary loan allows University Library patrons to access research materials not owned by the library.

Interlibrary loan requests can be made by authenticated IUPUI users over the web from anywhere. Delivery of most journal articles can be done over the web with e-mail notification of arrival. Create your account here:

Faculty Proxy Account

If you do research for a faculty member, please ask him/her to create an Interlibrary Loan Proxy Account for you. This way you can obtain articles and other materials for your faculty without using your personal ILL account. Information on how faculty can do this is located here:

Study Carrels

Study Carrels

Graduate students may apply to reserve an individual study carrel in University Library at the start of the fall semester on a first come-first served basis. The carrels are located on the 3rd and 4th floors in the library.

Please contact John Cooper for more information at (317) 274-0471 or visit the 2nd floor Service Desk for an application.
